Join us for the opening reception of our Winter Art Show.
Featuring photographers Lindita Lushaj, Tyler James, and introducing young local artists.
The 2022 Winter Art Show is a combination of two photographers whose work seamlessly spoke as a narrative. Jame's photographs are dark, ethereal, with a sprinkling of joy to remind us what it was like driving home from a family holiday celebration in the US. The feeling of peaceful sleepiness in the back of our caregivers car as we passed the twinkling of holiday lights decorating doors and lap posts. A bit of nostalgia mixed with hope, these lights remind us of being young and believing in all good things effortlessly.
Lushaj's photographs speak to that same hope as they capture a moment of time before wind, rain, or man unsettles nature. Shining examples of snow balanced on limbs, the sun rushing between pines, and a frozen lake untouched by tracks. That connection to our youth, untouched, pure, a memory of what life is like before any vails existed. Both artists capture stillness, a meditative focus, a breath of a moment gone by. Yet their work connects us to the present, how do we want to leave our own mark upon this world, and in what ways have we already done so unknowingly?
Local young artists are the pincial of hope and the creation of a bright and beautiful future. The work seen in this show demonstrates beginnings rooted in creativity and the belief of one's self as a person capable of creating in this life. The principles of art and design are seen throughout each piece of individual artwork. These young artists celebrate the creative process, speaking the truth about a memory which has not yet become nostalgia. Art is an empowering tool for finding one's voice, and these young artists have done that by creating work that connects to precious moments in time: a season of love, light, and kindness.
