This exhibition shows a variety of artists’ works with deer as subject matter and will run through April 18th.
White-tailed deer are abundant in the Upper Delaware River Valley and are greatly valued. We see them almost daily and they are gentle yet timid. They molt twice a year; in Spring to shed their winter coat and grow a thinner reddish hued coat, and in the Fall, they molt again replacing with a thicker greyish-brown coat. Many cultures view deer as a sacred animal that symbolize things such as peace, independence, and regeneration.
